Over the last fifteen years, Jim Kenefick has been a management consultant, executive coach and advocate of clear purpose, thoughtful design, and chosen accountability in organizations.

Early in his career, Jim held roles as an Organization Development Consultant at American Management Association and an AVP for OD and Training at Sotheby’s Inc. He designed interactive online learning programs at Ninth House Network, and later held responsibility for the selection and acquisition of network content.

As a member of the Strategic Change consulting team within Gap, Inc., he advised the senior executives and design teams of Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic. While there, he focused on leadership and organization design, and created unique initiatives enabling creative groups to capture strategic opportunities.

In his independent consulting practice, Jim has worked with a selection of clients including: Converse, Harris Corp, MTV Networks, Comcast, Turner Broadcasting, Goldman Sachs, Rare Environmental Conservation, Hetrick-Martin Institute, and small creative firms.

Jim enjoys the opportunities for creativity and collaboration offered by his field. In addition to writing and speaking on subjects related to engagement and community, he designed the award-winning online programs High Impact Hiring and Capturing Brand You and coauthored the opening chapter in Facilitating Group Communication: Innovations and Applications with Natural Groups, 2nd Ed. , winner of the National Communication Association's Distinguished Book Award. As adjunct faculty with The Mastery Foundation's School for Leadership, Jim's pro-bono work is focused on the creation and development of community and grassroots leadership.

Jim earned his B.A. in Organizational Development from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an M.A. in Social and Organizational Psychology from Columbia University.
